Efficient Shipping Container Relocation Services
Looking for a shipping container mover? We’re the container transport service you can rely on.
Container Stop has helped relocate a wide variety of containers. No job is too big or too small.
In fact, we’ve relocated a shipping container as little as 1 foot to make room for a new cement pad or shade structure. We’ve also relocated shipping containers 3,000 miles away full of household belongings.

How We Help Move Your Shipping Container
We can move empty and loaded containers for our customers. Relocating loaded containers does have a weight limit to consider and the content of the loaded container will need to meet those weight requirements.
When the time comes that you need your container to be relocated, ask yourself the three basic questions:
1. What size of container do you need moved (10-ft, 20-ft, 40-ft)?
2. Is the container empty or loaded? If it’s loaded, what is in it and how much weight is in the container?
3. Is there anything blocking the container that would prevent the relocation truck to access the container and get it loaded safely clear of obstructions (trees, vehicles, fences, etc.)?
All of this info is very important because it will determine which truck we dispatch to complete the job. There is a big difference in equipment used when moving a 10-foot container compared to a 40-foot container.
Once we have these details, we can send the right truck for the job. A little preparation goes a long way!
Shipping Container Delivery Considerations
Of course, if we’re delivering a 40-foot high cube container, you need to have 40 feet of space to put it. But there are a few other things to consider when having a container shipped, including:
- Access points
- Height clearance
- Room to maneuver
- Ground condition
How Much Does It Cost To Move a Container?
There are a few factors to consider when it comes to delivery costs. While we deliver throughout California and neighboring states, we are located in Paso Robles, CA. Delivering a container across the state will cost more than delivering across the city. There are also additional costs if multiple trucks are needed to deliver multiple containers.
However, if we can fit multiple containers onto a single truck, the cost is the same as if we were delivering one container. So if you order two 20-foot containers, you won’t be charged for multiple deliveries. If we can fit it on one truck, you’ll only be charged for the one truck.
Where the container will be situated is another factor to consider. A container being dropped in the middle of a field will be different from a challenging delivery. In some cases, it just isn’t feasible for the truck to reach the final destination. For an additional charge, we have extra equipment to take the container the final distance.
Shipping containers are a great way to get additional storage space at your home or business, an office at a construction site, and even more living area. We deliver containers throughout California and beyond, including custom and rental containers.
When the time comes that you need your storage container, shipping container, Seatrain, or CONEX box relocated, please give us a call.
Access Points
You may have plenty of room to place a container, but we need to be able to reach it. Is the entrance to your property wide enough for our truck and trailer? We perform site inspections when we can, either in person or through satellite images, but we don’t always have that luxury. Make sure obstructions are removed prior to delivery to expedite the process.
Height Clearance
Be aware of overhead objects, such as tree branches or power lines, that could be cause for concern. Especially with high cube containers, we will need up to 15 feet of clearance. While tree branches are easy enough to deal with, power lines are a completely different matter.
Room to Maneuver
You may have room for the container itself, but is there enough space for us to move into place and unload the container. A 40-foot container needs an additional 75 feet of clearance for delivery. Don’t have that much room? There are steps we can take to complete the delivery if we are able to discuss a plan with you.
Ground Condition
If the ground is too sloped, we may not be able to safely unload or place the container. While we can place a container on a concrete slab, we aren’t able to unload on an elevated surface. You may need to hire a crane company for final placement.
We don’t like surprises any more than you do. The more information you can give us about your property, including entrance points and clearance, the better. We will do everything in our power to put your container where you want it and will work with you to make sure it happens.
